Nobody hands out a key or flicks a switch. Here's an evening booking at a club whose lights come on from 18:30, with bookahit's standard gate and walkway settings.

  1. 18:02Booked and paid. The gate code is on the Court 2 gate instantly, and in the player's bookings and confirmation email.
  2. 18:45The walkway lights come on, 15 minutes before the booking (it's after the club's lights-on time, 18:30).
  3. 18:50The code starts opening the gate, 10 minutes before the booking.
  4. 19:00Court 2's lights come on for the booking.
  5. 20:00Play ends and the court lights go off, unless another booking starts within 15 minutes.
  6. 20:10The code stops working. The walkway lights follow at 20:15.

Your courts, gates and lights on one map

Upload a photo of your club from above (your own drone photo works best) and drag your courts, gates, keypads, readers and lights onto it. Then see at a glance which courts are free, in use or closed, and which lights are on. A code or a phone tap at a court gate shows green or red within seconds.

Questions

How quickly does a booking's gate code work?
Straight away. bookahit puts the code on your club's security system the moment the booking is made (for a paid booking, the moment the payment goes through), so there's no waiting for codes to sync. Players see it in their bookings and confirmation email. It opens the gate from a set time before the booking until a set time after: 10 minutes each way unless your club changes it. If your club's security system can't be reached at that moment (for example, the club's internet is down), bookahit keeps trying and the code goes on as soon as the connection is back.
Which security systems does bookahit work with?
A range of access control and security systems. At the site inspection our integrators look at what your club has, and connect it to bookahit or quote for what's needed. Each booking's code goes on your system, for that court's gate only.
Do we need new hardware?
Not for online booking. Gate codes and automatic lights need a security system with a keypad on each court gate and your lights wired to it. Cameras need a small Edge box at the club. Our integrators look at what you already have first, then supply and install what's needed, quoted after a site inspection.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Codes already on your club's security system keep working, because the system itself holds them. New bookings can still be made: their codes and light changes go on as soon as the connection is back. Players can always type their code on the keypad, even with no phone signal.
Can our team still take bookings at the desk or by phone?
Yes. Your team can book for anyone, give a member the same court every week, and change or cancel bookings. Players get their gate code by email.
Can we bring our members and bookings across?
Yes. Import members from a spreadsheet (CSV) and future bookings from your old system's export. bookahit checks every row before anything is saved, and each booker can get one email listing their bookings.
Who gets the money from court bookings?
Your club. Players pay on Stripe's secure page (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay and more), straight into your club's own Stripe account. Stripe charges its normal fees, and cancelled paid bookings are refunded in full.
Where is our data kept?
bookahit's servers and database are in Sydney. Some services we use, such as email, texts and card payments, may store or process information outside Australia. Our privacy policy lists them.
Does bookahit record our cameras?
No. Footage stays on your club's recorder. bookahit shows your cameras to your team live and never stores footage, and every live view is in your activity log.
Do players need an app?
No. bookahit works in any web browser on a phone or computer. The bookahit app for iPhone and Android is on its way to the App Store and Google Play.
We also have pickleball or padel courts. Can they be booked?
Yes. Any court at your club can be booked the same way, with its own gate and lights. Competitions and player ratings are set up for tennis.
Who looks after it day to day?
The bookahit team looks after your gates, lights and bookings remotely. Anything we do for your club, such as testing your security system or opening a gate, is in your activity log with the person's name and the reason.
What else can your integrators install?
Switchboard upgrades, security systems, CCTV cameras, data cabling, lighting control, duress buttons, electricity meters and building systems. Tell us what your club needs and we'll quote after a site inspection.
