Tennis court lights that follow the bookings

With bookahit, your tennis court lights are automatic: they come on for the people who booked and go off when their time ends. Nobody has to hand out a key to the light box, come down to switch them on, or remember to switch them off.

How the lights work

  • Lights for each booking

    Each court's lights come on for its bookings and go off when play ends, through your club's access controller (the box that runs your gates and lights). Court blocks you mark for lights, such as evening coaching, light up the same way.

  • From your lights-on time

    Lights come on from a time you set, or from sunset at your club's location (worked out for every day of the year), or a set number of minutes before or after sunset.

  • No switching between games

    When one booking ends and another starts less than 15 minutes later, the lights stay on.

  • Walkway and shared lights

    Path, walkway and car park lights come on before a booking and stay on after the last one, so players can walk in and out: 15 minutes each way unless you change it.

  • An override for your team

    Your team can override any light from the club dashboard, for an event or a repair: on or off for a set time or until changed, then back to automatic. The lights page shows what's on and why.

  • A lights fee, if you charge one

    Charge an hourly lights fee on courts with lights, from your lights-on time. Players see it on your booking page and pay it with the booking.

What your club needs

Court and walkway lights wired to a security system that bookahit connects to. Our integrators inspect your lights and switchboard, get the switchboard ready for light control, and connect your gates at the same time (see a gate code for every booking).

Connecting your security system and caring for it is $258 + GST a month for 36 months, then $83 + GST a month, on top of the court fee of $49 + GST per court a month. Nothing up front. Questions about court lights

Do lights come on for a booking in daylight?
Not before your club's lights-on time. A booking that starts earlier gets its lights when that time comes. Choose sunset, worked out for each day at your club, and the lights follow the seasons; a set time stays the same all year.
Can we turn the lights on for an event or a coaching night?
Yes. Mark a court block for lights and the lights follow it like a booking, or override them from the dashboard for as long as you need and set them back to automatic afterwards.
What if the internet drops?
bookahit switches the lights through your access controller, so a change due while your club is offline happens as soon as the connection is back. Gate codes keep working throughout, because the controller holds them.
Which lights can bookahit switch?
Any light wired to your access controller: court lights, and path, walkway or car park lights. Our integrators inspect your switchboard and get it ready for light control if it needs it.
